144 Chargers, Adventure Trail, and more

It looks like Rivian has big plans for its next plant in Georgia. As shown in a recently shared site plan and project map, the Rivian site in Georgia would be a large facility that would include several massive buildings covering millions of square feet each, as well as interesting sections such as a “path of ‘aventure’ and a large 144-space charging station for outgoing vehicles.

The plans have been shared with Teslarati speak The owners of Rivian forum. As seen from the plans, Rivian’s Georgia plant has a proposed total area of 19,620,000 square feet on a 1,978 acre parcel of land. It’s quite an impressive piece of real estate and a significant step up from the company’s existing factory in Normal, Illinois. Compared to the Georgia complex, the Normal plant was previously a Mitsubishi plant which was simply acquired by Rivian.

A look at the plans for the Georgia plant suggests that Rivian is quite ambitious with its next electric vehicle production site. The complex, after all, will not only have facilities dedicated to the production of electric vehicles. It would also include an on-site delivery center, as well as an impressive 144 electric vehicle charging stations for outbound vehicle preparations. A dedicated training center and event center would also be built.

But perhaps most interestingly, Rivian’s plans also include an “adventure course” near the resort’s test track. Few details are available on the “Adventure Trail” itself, although site plans suggest it would be set in a wooded area within the 1,978-acre resort. Needless to say, Rivian employees, and perhaps some customers as well, would likely appreciate the on-site “Adventure Course” at the Georgia site.

Rivian has captured market interest as a company that may have the potential to be the next big maker of electric vehicles. So far, the company is facing growing pains as it tries to ramp up production of its first consumer products, the R1T pickup truck and R1S SUV, as well as its Amazon electric delivery van.

After a successful stock market debut last November, Rivian currently stands as a company with a valuation of $73 billion at the time of writing. The electric truck maker also recently announced that it has successfully produced a total of 1,015 vehicles by the end of 2021. Of these, 920 have been delivered to customers before the end of the year.
