The Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) has previewed what members can expect in the association’s 50th anniversary year in 2023 as the incentive travel industry continues to rebound rapidly.
Rebecca Wright, Acting Executive Director of SITE, said at the start of Wednesday’s press event: “Our 50th anniversary presents exciting opportunities for us. We’re focusing even more on the business case for incentive travel, as we see pent-up demand from companies who have found that other incentives and rewards they need to use during the pandemic aren’t having as much of an impact. . We are definitely seeing a need and a resurgence.
Aoife Delaney, President of SITE 2021, also offered a moment of reflection on her time leading the SITE Board of Directors. Aoife noted that her goal as president to build back better “was both for our members and to look after our strong community, but also to keep SITE financially responsible. We had to make sure our community felt there was still a good reason to be part of our association in a year with more ups and downs than anyone could really prepare for.
Aoife cited the success of the SITE 2022 Global Conference and the launch of the SITE France Chapter in 2021 as examples of the value SITE has continued to provide international incentive professionals during this challenging time.
The SITE Foundation was also well represented. VP of Content and Research Selina Sinclair spoke about current and upcoming SITE Foundation research, including the third edition of Corporate inSITEs and Leadership inSITEs, the findings of which are expected to be released throughout the spring. . Selina also briefly touched on upcoming projects, including the Incentive Travel Index, which launched at IMEX in Frankfurt on Tuesday.
